 The Northern Virginia Urban League (NOVAUL) is a place where you can find a wealth of resources designed to help empower African Americans and disadvantaged others to enter the economic and social mainstream. As we move forward in launching a new era at the League, we are looking to set a direction that will expand and enhance the mission that the Urban League movement has put forth in Northern Virginia for the past 18 years. On this site you will learn about these resources to include information on academic scholarships; guidance and support services for teen parents; financial education; entrepreneurship resources; life skills training, cultural enrichment and leadership training services for our youth; and many volunteer opportunities. Since 1990, NOVUL has empowered communities and changed the lives of thousands of minorities in Northern Virginia, both the young and the elderly, through a wealth of proven program services. We are pleased to report that the NOVAUL received an overall rating of 4.86 (on scale of 5.0) during the National Urban League’s Affiliate Performance Assessment indicating an “Outstanding” affiliate ranking the NOVAUL as one of the top affiliates in the nation.
