NULITES / New Horizons

National Urban League Incentives to Excel and Succeed (NULITES) – Founded on the premise that young people are our most valuable resource, the NULITES  program is designed to reflect the positive aspects of youth in today’s society while providing opportunities for personal, cultural and leadership development. The main purpose of NULITES is to promote and maintain high standards of well being, educational, character and leadership qualities. NULITERS participate in weekly or monthly activities that develop leadership, social and life skill skills; explored career options; are exposed to mentoring activities; and participate in community activities that encourage civic engagement. 

New Horizons Club - A companion component to our NULITES program, this program provides personal and social developmental education for elementary aged youth. Similar to the NULITES initiative the program exposes youth to a weekly agenda of life skills and social skills, development education opportunities, as well as academic support and cultural enrichment experiences.

Annual "Doing the Right Thing" Youth Celebration – Conducted each spring recognizes youth, ages 6 to 18, for making a positive difference in their schools, communities and homes. Students, are nominated by school staff, community leaders and parents, they received awards in the following categories: Academic Achievement, Community Service, Demonstrated Leadership Ability, School Attendance, Citizenship and Overcoming Personal Odds.
