NULITES Youth Summit 2008

What an incredible experience it was to attend the 2008 NULITES Youth Summit in Orlando, Florida. I was simply overwhelmed by the National Urban League's desire to lay a firm foundation for our youth to be successful. The theme of the summit this year was: Got Dream? See it. Own it. Do it. All activities were designed to provide the youth as well as adults an opportunity for one on one interaction, networking and information sharing with their peers, nationally known celebrities, leading political, social and academic experts. There was never a dull moment through-out the entire conference. The youth had an opportunity to visit the fastest growing college campus in Florida, The University of Central Florida campus. They also had a chance to visit Disney World. The summit was no doubt an incredible learning, growing, and networking experience. The information obtained from the conference will help with the growth and excellence of our NULITES programs here in Northern Virginia.
